Supply of Local Products (Live Goats/Sheep, Poultry/Trout Fish) to ITBP
Under the Vibrant Village scheme, an agreement was made on October 30, 2024, between the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department of Uttarakhand and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) to supply local products (live goats/sheep, poultry/trout fish) to ITBP battalions/formations stationed in Uttarakhand. This marks the first of its kind initiative in the country to realize the “Vocal for Local” concept. Produce is supplied annually to ITBP from farmers in Vibrant Villages. This arrangement aims to provide organized farmers, working through cooperative societies, an opportunity to conduct business worth crores each year. Payment is made through DBT within two days of product delivery to ITBP posts, for which the state government has created a revolving fund of Rs. 5 crores.
